Avoid Sewer Back Ups Forever

People tend to ignore their sewer line until they are experiencing an issue. It is important to understand that the sewer should be maintained just like you tend to your front lawn or car, it is important to perform maintenance on your sewer line to avoid serious issues.

First you want to prevent blockages from forming, while understanding this is normal and there is a good chance a blockage will occur. It is important to be mindful of what you are putting down your drain line, there are certain materials that are more prone to causing sewer back ups than others. It is suggested to avoid flushing paper towels, wet wipes, sanitary napkins and even tissues which most people do not think about.

A routine maintenance will break up any clogs that are starting to form and ultimately avoid a back up of sewage on the inside of your home. Many homeowners tend to avoid the need for preventative maintenance and wait for the back up to occur. We suggest that you get on a plan to clear your sewer every 10-15 months just to avoid the possibility of a back up. The worst case scenario is that you spent a few hundred dollars, found no major issues with the sewer but now can rest assured that the sewer will not back up in the near future.

The sewer maintenance will also reduce the possibility of odors which are not only terrible to smell, they are also hazardous and can lead to sickness if not tended to on an emergency basis.

The most important factor to consider is your cost savings if you require a pipe to be replaced or repaired. If your pipes are not maintained and as a result end up requiring a repair, you will have spent thousands of dollars just to repair a section of broken pipe on an emergency basis.
