Top Reasons for Low Water Pressure

When there is a significant drop in water pressure the problem makes itself apparent. The bigger issue arises when there is a subtle change in pressure that may affect you on a daily basis. If you are experiencing a reduction in water pressure, it may indicate several other issues that may require a resolution.

The most common signs that your home is experiencing low water pressure include:

  1. When experiencing a reduction in water pressure while using multiple plumbing fixtures at the same time. Example: If you are taking a shower and another family member uses the dishwasher, resulting in a drop of pressure in the shower.
  2. Are you experiencing low water pressure in all fixtures throughout the home, regardless if you are using one or ten at the same time.
  3. Are your appliances working slower? Is your dishwasher not working as well as it had been?  Is this a result of a reduction in your water pressure or volume of water?
  4. Are you using a water pressure gauge displaying less than 40psi? If you suspect that you are experiencing a pressure problem, it can easily be confirmed by utilizing a pressure gauge. If your gauge reads from 45-80 psi, you  have nothing to worry about.

If you are experiencing a reduction in water pressure and require professional guidance, it is important to speak with you licensed master plumber who will investigate and come up with a viable solution.
